  1. According to: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/aphasia.html "Aphasia is a disorder caused by damage to the parts of the brain that control language" The majorities of people who can suffer this kind of disorder are those people who had an accident or received a stroke in their head getting a brain lesion; for instance: As we can notice in this video the child received a stroke and he started to suffer this disorder since that moment getting as a result unable to speak, this happened to him because he suffered a lesion in a cell of the brain that control communication and speak. according to: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/aphasia.html "There are four main types:
    1) Expressive aphasia – you know what you want to say, but you have trouble saying or writing what you mean.
2)Receptive aphasia – you hear the voice or see the print, but you can't make sense of the words.
3)Anomic aphasia – you have trouble using the correct word for objects, places or events.
4)Global aphasia – you can't speak, understand speech, read or write."

As we can see, I think the child was suffering the symptom of a Global aphasia because he could not speak, which is one of the characteristics of Global Aphasia, but with his family's help and also the therapy that he was receiving he could speak again, not at the same way as he used to do because this is a big process but at least he did it.

Something that is true, is that there is not treatment for this kind of disorder, but there is a solution such as therapies that can help those people with this kind of problem.

  2. APHASIA...
    Children with Aphasia...
Aphasia is a real trouble in children because they are unable to speak to communicate and it is hard to understand them, if we do not know nothing about that...
But,aphasia, for the family is very frustrating to handle this situtation, but at the present ther is a posibility, speech therapies to help those chindren and the parents also...
Progress to the situation is very good...
The most important is the positive attitude of parents to address this situation with patience and love...

In oder to read we need to 3 key areas on the left zone of the brain that work simultaneously, they are, in front of the brain, known as phoneme recognition, at the back of the brain the area used to analyze the phnemes and the words that we percive, and the third area is for ditecting words form, this area works as automatic detector... But the main problem with dyslexic people is analized the words in their brain...

  5. In my own humble opinion this disorder(aphasia)is one of the most frustrating problems of the human being because according to Rossmarry's thouhgt there is not a totally successful treatment and to be able to speak, read, write or all of them, and then to lose one of these abilities must make children or adults feel so frustrated at the moment of expressing their ideas and feelings.

  6. Aphasia is refered to an impairment of language ability. that is to say,a person is unable to speak, read or write. For that reason,he or she does not have the same capacity for understand like a person who does not suffer aphasia.Besides, a person who suffers aphasia disorders usually does not comprehend some language. Also,he or she does not have the capacity of pronouncing words.
On the other hand, the cases of aphasia are originated by a brain tumor,an infection or an accident.
I think that these kind of people suffer a lot with their condition. For that reason, if one of us knows a person who has this disorder, must treat him or her with love. Moreover,we could give all our support to them. They need a special treatment for feeling better.

  9. I see aphasia as a disability and not a disease, this disability must be one frustrating for medical institutions and also to the affected because there is no cure for it, and also the frusttration is part of the family because in many cases the does not know how handle this situation.

  11. Aphasia as my classmates said is a disorder located in the brain and that affects people in order to speak, read or write. As Samuel said that's very frustating for medical institutions and for the family because they know that is no cure for it, as I saw in the video, the woman pay extra attention to her son and also she is a helper of a teacher to another people who are suffering this kind of disability.
